Replace water-damaged drywall after the leak is handled
Water can damage board and finish after a leak or moisture event. Replacing the drywall before the source is resolved can put the repair ahead of the drying or mitigation work that the responsible provider needs to complete.
After the moisture source is addressed, Solis replaces damaged board and restores the requested texture or finish. Leak repair and mitigation stay with the responsible provider; the drywall work can then bring the affected wall back through board replacement and surface preparation.
- Damaged board replaced after moisture work is complete.
- Texture or finish restored with the repair.

Confirm the area is ready for drywall work
The water source and the inside of the wall have to be dealt with before anything is closed. EPA guidance separates intact, unswollen drywall from board that has swollen or split at the seams, and it notes that a wall cavity dries more slowly than its face. We price removal and put-back once the restoration status and the work area are known.
Replace board based on the observed damage
Sound board around a small wet spot can sometimes be patched. Swelling, damaged seams or a soft core mean replacement. We cut where the damage stops, add backing where it's needed and replace what has to go; no single cut height fits every leak.
Put back the requested finish after the cavity is dry
When the space is ready, we hang the board, tape it and bring back the texture or smooth finish, and paint can cover the patch or the whole wall. Drying, mold work and cleanup of dirty water are separate jobs that need their own qualified people and clearance first. In a house built before 1978, the joint compound in the wet board could contain asbestos, which was allowed in patching compounds until 1977, and Washington requires an accredited inspection before material like that is torn out.

Water-Damage Drywall Repair questions in Puyallup
Can drywall be repaired before the wall cavity is dry?
No. EPA clean-water guidance says the cavity dries more slowly than the board face, and manufacturers say damp panels shouldn't be installed, so we wait for dry.
Does water-damage drywall repair include mold remediation?
No. Mold remediation, contaminated-water cleanup and drying are separate jobs that need clearance before we hang new board.
