Drywall hole patching in Thurston County and Nearby Communities

We patch drywall holes and access cutouts in Thurston County and nearby communities, from a doorknob dent to the square a plumber cut to reach a valve. Each patch gets backing, tape and enough coats to sit flat, then the texture and paint the rest of your wall already has.

Patch the opening and blend it into the surrounding wall

An opening from access work or a damaged spot can leave a hard edge in an otherwise finished room. Replacing the missing board alone may leave the patch visible where its seam or texture meets the existing wall.

Solis patches localized drywall openings, prepares the seams, and blends texture or smooth finishing into the surrounding area. For a full room finish, Solis carries the repaired surface through primer and paint.

Here’s how we get it handled

  1. Text us photos or call

A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.

  2. Agree the scope and schedule

We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

  3. Get the space finished

Solis completes the agreed work and reviews the finish with you. Include interior painting in the scope for a complete drywall-and-paint handoff.

How is a drywall hole patched?

We cut the damaged board back to a clean opening, fit backing behind the edges and screw in a new piece of drywall cut to size. Tape goes over the seams, then coats of compound, each one feathered wider than the last so the patch sits flat with the wall around it. A dent or a screw hole only needs filling and feathering. When a plumber or electrician still needs the opening, we close it after they finish, so nobody has to cut into a finished patch.

Which damage needs a patch or a larger repair?

An isolated hole or an access cutout is a patch. Damage that runs along a seam, crosses several panels or sits in board gone soft from water needs more than that, and we replace the damaged section instead. Several small holes close together are often better fixed as one new piece of board than as a row of separate patches. The estimate names the area we replace, so you can see where the new board starts and stops.

How does the patch blend with the existing finish?

We match the texture first. Orange peel and knockdown are sprayed and checked against the wall beside them, and a smooth wall is skimmed wide enough that window light at an angle won't pick out the edge. Paint is the other half. Touching up only the patch can leave a sheen change you notice from the side, while painting the wall to its corners avoids it; you choose, and the estimate shows which. The Gypsum Association's GA-214 sets out the finish levels drywall is taken to before paint or texture.

Get the wall closed and the room finished

Text us a close photo of the hole, one of the whole wall and a rough size of the opening. Tell us whether it's on a wall or a ceiling and whether another trade still needs access. We can quote the patch to a primed surface or carry it through texture and paint. If the house was built before 1978, say so: Washington's lead renovation rules cover pre-1978 housing, and joint compound made before 1977 could contain asbestos.

Drywall Patching questions

Does a drywall patch include painting the whole wall?

Only if you want it to. We can stop at a primed patch, paint the patch and blend it out, or paint the wall corner to corner. The estimate says which one you're paying for.

Can a plumbing access cutout be patched?

Yes. Once the plumbing work is finished and the opening is no longer needed, we close it with new board, finish the seams and match the wall around it.

Tell us the city, the size of the opening, whether it's a wall or ceiling, the texture around it, how far you want paint to go and, if it's before 1978, the year the house was built.
