Drywall patches for DuPont walls and ceilings
We take on drywall patching in DuPont, closing a defined hole or access opening and blending it into the wall or ceiling around it. A patch handles one opening, while a failed seam or damage that runs further needs a wider repair.

Patch the opening and blend it into the surrounding wall
An opening from access work or a damaged spot can leave a hard edge in an otherwise finished room. Replacing the missing board alone may leave the patch visible where its seam or texture meets the existing wall.
Solis patches localized drywall openings, prepares the seams, and blends texture or smooth finishing into the surrounding area. For a full room finish, Solis carries the repaired surface through primer and paint.

Here’s how we get it handled
Text us photos or call
A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.
Agree the scope and schedule
We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

Drywall patching in DuPont homes
When DuPont's homes were built shapes what is behind the wall and which rules apply to the work.
- 6% Before 1940
- under 1% 1940–1959
- 8% 1960–1979
- 24% 1980–1999
- 63% 2000 or later
- 2002Median year DuPont homes were built
Half of DuPont's homes were built before 2002 and half after. Send the year your home was built with your photos; it tells us what the walls and earlier patches are likely made of. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built
- 13.7%of DuPont homes were built before 1980
Asbestos was banned from wall patching compounds in 1977, so old patches and joint compound in these homes are tested before they are sanded. U.S. EPA, regulatory history of asbestos bans
- 1978Washington's lead-safe renovation cutoff
Washington's lead renovation rules cover housing built before 1978, and a firm must be certified to do paid renovation work under them. WAC 365-230-020 and 365-230-360
Close the opening with a sound joint
We square the hole to firm board, add support where it's needed and fit a matching piece of drywall. Tape and compound tie it into the panel around it, and the joint gets feathered before finishing, following the GA-216 steps for gypsum panels.

Tell a patch from a broader board repair
A single hole or trade cutout is a patch. A damaged seam, broken edges that run past the hole or weak board around several cutouts can need a larger replacement. Tell us if anyone still needs the opening before it's closed.
Blend the repair and define paint coverage
We finish the patch smooth or texture it to match the wall. Paint can stop at the opening, run to the corner or cover the whole plane. Old paint, sheen and side light can give away a small touch-up, so we decide the paint boundary with the texture.
Patch estimate
Send the opening size, its location, close and room-wide photos, the texture and any earlier board work. Confirm the access is finished with and say whether primer or paint is included.
Drywall Patching questions in DuPont
Is patching the same as a full drywall repair?
No. Patching closes one defined hole; a split seam or wider damage takes more board work.
Can drywall patching include paint?
Yes. Choose whether paint covers the patch, reaches a corner or takes in the whole wall or ceiling.
