Metal stud walls and drywall for Tumwater interiors
We run metal stud framing and drywall as one contract in Tumwater offices, shops and tenant spaces, taking a partition from layout to finished board in one contract. You deal with one crew for the studs, the board and the joints, and one proposal that prices them by wall type.

Keep metal framing and drywall on the same layout
Walls, openings, dimensions, and board requirements all have to meet the project layout. When framing and drywall are treated as separate tasks, a missed opening or handoff detail can slow the next stage of a renovation or build-out.
Solis builds interior metal-stud and drywall assemblies to the specified layout, carrying openings and finish handoff through the work. That keeps framing and board connected to the project documents and the sequence shared with other trades.
- Metal framing and board follow the specified layout.
- Openings and finish handoff carried through the work.

Metal stud framing and drywall in Tumwater homes
When Tumwater's homes were built shapes what is behind the wall and which rules apply to the work.
- 2% Before 1940
- 9% 1940–1959
- 22% 1960–1979
- 24% 1980–1999
- 43% 2000 or later
- 1995Median year Tumwater homes were built
Half of Tumwater's homes were built before 1995 and half after. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built
- 42.5%of Tumwater homes were built in 2000 or later
Newer homes are almost all drywall over wood framing, which keeps new work and the existing walls consistent. U.S. Census Bureau, 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates
Start with partition locations and openings
We lay out from your partition plan: wall lines, heights, door and service openings, and where each wall meets the existing building. Walls that stop at the ceiling are priced differently from walls that run to the deck above, so we read the sections as well as the plan.
Coordinate framing with the drywall finish
Because we frame and board, backing goes in where your casework, grab bars or TVs will hang, and access panels land where the trades need them. Board then goes on with the orientation, fasteners and joints GA-216 describes, to the partition system in your drawings.

Keep rated and acoustic walls on their specified designs
Some partitions carry a fire or sound rating, and those follow their listed design down to how joints and penetrations are sealed. Steel studs alone don't make a wall rated. If your drawings name a design, we build to it and say so in the proposal.

Metal Stud Framing and Drywall questions in Tumwater
Can one estimate cover both metal framing and drywall?
Yes. We price framing, board, joint finishing and paint prep together, broken out by partition type.
Does a metal-stud partition automatically have a fire rating?
No. A rating comes from a tested assembly and all of its details, not from the studs.
