Level 4 drywall finish for Tumwater projects
We apply a Level 4 drywall finish in Tumwater, taping and coating the joints, screws and corners so the walls take flat or low-sheen paint without a seam showing. It's the finish most painted rooms need, and we price it on its own line.

Carry the specified Level 4 finish across the listed walls
Plans may name Level 4 without making it clear which rooms or surfaces receive that finish. Lighting direction and the final paint sheen also affect how the walls look once the coating is on.
Solis applies the specified Level 4 finish to the project areas, carrying the walls through the named finishing stage. Keeping coating notes and light conditions in view connects the drywall finish to the room's next paint step.

Newer homes are almost all drywall over wood framing, which keeps new work and the existing walls consistent. U.S. Census Bureau, 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates
What Level 4 covers
GA-214 defines Level 4 as tape bedded in compound with more coats over the flat joints, three coats over screw heads and corner bead, all sanded smooth. It's the standard for walls getting flat paint, light texture or wallcovering. On new board we finish every joint; on a repair we finish to where the new work meets the old wall.
Compare Level 4 with Level 5
Level 5 adds a skim coat over the whole sheet after the Level 4 work. It costs more and shows its value under gloss paint or strong side light. A smooth-looking wall doesn't have to be Level 5, and Level 5 alone doesn't remove old texture. We'll tell you which walls need it.
Match the finish to its decoration
Paint sheen and light decide how much a joint shows. Flat paint in a room with ordinary light hides a Level 4 joint well. A window at the end of a long hall can show it. If you're unsure, we can finish a sample area so you can look at it in your own light.
Pricing your Level 4 rooms
Text photos of the board or send the plans, say whether it's new work or a repair, and tell us the paint. We'll list the Level 4 rooms and flag any wall where Level 5 might be worth it.
