Replace water-damaged drywall after the leak is handled
Water can damage board and finish after a leak or moisture event. Replacing the drywall before the source is resolved can put the repair ahead of the drying or mitigation work that the responsible provider needs to complete.
After the moisture source is addressed, Solis replaces damaged board and restores the requested texture or finish. Leak repair and mitigation stay with the responsible provider; the drywall work can then bring the affected wall back through board replacement and surface preparation.
- Damaged board replaced after moisture work is complete.
- Texture or finish restored with the repair.

Before work that could release asbestos, the owner or owner's agent has a good faith inspection done by an accredited inspector and gives the report to contractors before they bid. RCW 49.26.013 and WAC 296-62-07721
Establish that the cavity is ready to close
The water source, the cavity and the restoration handoff are settled before new board goes in. EPA's clean-water guidance notes that a wall cavity can take longer to dry than the face you can see, and that swollen or seam-damaged board may need to come out, so a dry-looking surface doesn't prove the inside is dry.
Replace only the board the damage requires
If the panel around a small damaged area is still sound, a patch can do. Soft core, swelling or failed seams mean a bigger section, and the cut follows the damage and the restoration boundary, since no single cut height fits every leak.
Finish after source control and drying are complete
Once the wall is ready, put-back means fitting board, backing where needed, tape, compound and the smooth or textured finish you pick, with paint at the repair or across the wall. Before more wall is opened in an older house, the Southwest Clean Air Agency has suspect materials surveyed by an AHERA-certified inspector when a contractor does the work. Extraction, drying, mold work and contaminated-water cleanup are separate qualified work that happens before we close the wall.

What helps us scope the put-back
Photos of the damage, the size of the affected area, whether the source is fixed and the wall dried, what's already been removed, and the finish you want. Restoration notes show where our work starts.
Water-Damage Drywall Repair questions in Chehalis
Can drywall be replaced before the wall cavity is dry?
No. EPA notes the inside of a wall can dry more slowly than its surface, and USG says damp panels shouldn't be installed, so we wait for the cavity to be ready.
Does water-damage drywall repair include mold remediation?
No. We remove and put back drywall once the area is ready. Drying, mold work and contaminated-water cleanup are separate services that come first.
