Putting Olympia rooms back after a fire

We schedule fire-damage drywall repair in Olympia as soon as restoration releases the area, replacing the burned board, rebuilding the joints and restoring the wall or ceiling finish. Where the original wall was a rated assembly, we rebuild that assembly.

Put fire-damaged walls back after restoration work

Fire restoration can leave damaged board and finish to replace after the affected area is ready for drywall work. Without a clear handoff, board replacement and texture or paint preparation can be mixed into the restoration stage.

After the restoration provider clears the remaining work area, Solis repairs the drywall and carries the wall through texture and paint preparation as needed. Keeping that work with the post-restoration phase gives the room a clear path back to finished walls.

  • Texture and paint preparation carried into the finish.

Here’s how we get it handled

  1. Text us photos or call

A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.

  2. Agree the scope and schedule

We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

  3. Get the space finished

Solis completes the agreed work and reviews the finish with you. Include interior painting in the scope for a complete drywall-and-paint handoff.

Rebuild the released area

With cleanup and any assessment done, we remove damaged board to the opening edge, check what's left and install new panels, taped and blended into the surrounding surface. Smoke cleanup and odor treatment happen before we arrive.

Follow the original wall or ceiling assembly

Rated walls and ceilings are rebuilt from the plans or restoration drawings, including panel layers, framing, insulation, joints and penetrations. A replacement board on its own doesn't restore the rating.

Older Olympia homes and the tear-out

Nearly half of Olympia's homes were built before 1980, when joint compound and ceiling texture could still contain asbestos. In Thurston County, disturbing more than 48 square feet of asbestos material needs 10 days' notice to the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency, so testing is part of planning the tear-out.

Restore the finish after board repair

Once the assembly is closed, we restore the texture, primer and paint. The quote says whether paint stops at the repair or a corner or covers the room. If an inspector needs to see the open wall, we wait.

Send the release and the opening map

Text the restoration release or scope, photos of the open areas and their sizes. We'll quote the rebuild and the finish to the boundary the adjuster approved.
