Closing up flood cuts in Olympia homes
We put flood-cut drywall back in Olympia after the source is fixed and the restoration crew has dried the cavity, replacing the lower-wall strip and finishing it into the wall above. Texture, trim and paint follow.

Replace flood-cut board and finish the long wall edge
A flood cut can leave a long strip of missing drywall across a wall or several rooms. The cut edge stays visible after removal, and replacement should wait until the moisture source and needed drying or mitigation are handled.
Once the responsible provider completes the moisture work, Solis replaces the flood-cut board and restores the requested texture or finish. Carrying the new board through its edge treatment helps the repaired section meet the existing wall across the cut line.

Begin at the restoration handoff
Extraction, leak repair, drying and mold work are done by the restoration company. EPA clean-water guidance says swollen or seam-damaged board comes out and notes that cavities are slow to dry. Contaminated water calls for the restoration team's decision before anything is closed.

Replace the strip shown by the actual cut
Cuts change height at corners, doors and wall transitions, so we measure each run. There's no universal flood-cut height. We replace the board in the opening and tape the seam into the wall above it.
Restore trim, texture and paint
Insulation and baseboard are included only when agreed; texture, primer and paint are part of the finish. A long horizontal seam often needs paint across the full wall to disappear, so we quote the strip alone and the full wall.
Cut photos and drying sign-off
Text photos of each wall with the cut showing, the length and height of each run, and the restoration company's sign-off. Board, tape, trim and paint each get a line on the quote.
