Grab Bar & Handrail Installation in Thurston County and Nearby Communities

Solis Interiors provides grab bar and handrail installation in Thurston County and nearby communities. A grab bar is only as good as what it is fastened into. Solis Interiors installs grab bars, handrails, and bathroom safety rails across Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and DuPont, anchored into framing or added blocking for the load the hardware is rated to carry.

Install grab bars and handrails at the chosen location

A grab bar or handrail needs a suitable attachment point behind the finished wall. Hardware instructions, wall construction, and placement matter; medical and accessibility decisions belong with the person and care team choosing the location.

Solis installs the requested grab bar or handrail to its hardware instructions, using known framing or backing at the chosen point. When support requires opening the wall, Solis repairs the drywall and carries it through finish work so the surrounding surface is put back.

  • Grab bar or handrail installed to product instructions.
  • Related wall repair carried through the finish.

Here’s how we get it handled

The anchor is the whole job

A towel bar and a grab bar can look identical on a shelf and behave nothing alike on a wall. A grab bar has to take a sudden load in the direction a person actually pulls, so it needs solid framing or blocking behind the board. Where the framing is not in the right place, we open the wall, add blocking, and finish it back so the wall looks untouched.

Matching the room that is already there

Older bathrooms usually mean tile, a specific finish, and a wall that has been patched before. We work to the existing tile line and finish, seal the penetrations, and keep the spacing consistent with the rest of the room. If a match is not realistic, we say so before the first hole.

Getting it done before someone comes home

Most of these calls are tied to a date: a discharge from the hospital, a move back from a family home, or a move-in inspection. We can usually install in a single visit and we clean up after ourselves, because the room is about to be used. Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater customers get 10% off mounting work for military families and residents 60 and over.

Common questions

Where should the bars go, and at what height?

That is the occupant's call, and it is usually made with an occupational therapist or a caregiver who knows how the room gets used. It depends on height, reach, and whether the person sits or stands. We install at the position and height you specify and follow the hardware manufacturer's instructions for load and spacing. We do not assess medical need or certify accessibility compliance.

Do you install into tile or a fiberglass surround?

Both, by different methods. Tile gets the right bit and a sealed hole afterward. A fiberglass or acrylic surround normally needs blocking behind it before a bar can take real load, which is a larger job and worth knowing about up front. Send a photo of the wall and we will tell you which one you have.
