Ceiling repair for Lakewood rooms
We fix Lakewood ceilings with ceiling repair for cracked seams, holes and damaged drywall, then refinish the area to match. If there's a water mark, we want the source fixed before we close or paint anything.

37% of Lakewood homes date from 1960 to 1979, so a repair often has to blend into an older ceiling texture.

Repair the ceiling and carry its finish across the room
A damaged ceiling board can leave seams and edges visible overhead, where light travels across a broad surface. Replacing only the broken piece can leave the surrounding finish disconnected from the repair.
Solis repairs damaged ceiling board and prepares the surrounding surface for a consistent finish. Including the nearby area connects board repair to texture or paint preparation, so the ceiling can return to a finished surface across the room.
- Damaged ceiling board replaced or repaired.
- Nearby ceiling finish carried through preparation.

Ceiling repair in Lakewood homes
- 1975Median year Lakewood homes were built
Half of Lakewood's homes were built before 1975 and half after. Send the year your home was built with your photos; it tells us what the walls and earlier patches are likely made of. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built
- 58.9%of Lakewood homes were built before 1980
Asbestos was banned from wall patching compounds in 1977, so old patches and joint compound in these homes are tested before they are sanded. U.S. EPA, regulatory history of asbestos bans
- 1978Washington's lead-safe renovation cutoff
Washington's lead renovation rules cover housing built before 1978, and a firm must be certified to do paid renovation work under them. WAC 365-230-020 and 365-230-360
- Lakewood homes in larger buildings
The Census Bureau's 2020 to 2024 American Community Survey estimates that 32.2 percent of Lakewood housing units are in buildings with five or more units. U.S. Census Bureau, 2020-2024 ACS 5-year estimates, units in structure (B25024)
Read the crack or opening across the ceiling
A seam crack, a hole, a sagging sheet and loose finish are four different repairs. A close photo shows the surface, and a room photo shows where the line runs past corners, lights and other seams. A stain alone doesn't tell us how much board is affected, and EPA's clean-water guidance treats swollen board and failed seams as signs it should come out.
Carry the repair beyond a raised seam
When board needs replacing, we cut back to an edge that will hold the new piece, tape it and feather it into the old ceiling. A narrow band of mud leaves a ridge you can see from across the room, so we go wide. A crack that keeps returning gets its loose tape cut out and the seam rebuilt.
Match the texture and ceiling paint area
Tell us whether the repair should end ready for paint, get a texture match, or be painted across the whole ceiling. Painting just the patch can leave a color or sheen shift, and painting the ceiling hides it.
Leaks from the unit above
About a third of Lakewood's homes are in buildings with five or more units. In those, a ceiling stain can start in the unit above, and the owner or manager arranges that fix before we repair yours. Send the room, the damage and whether the leak has been fixed.
Ceiling Repair questions in Lakewood
Can a ceiling crack be repaired without repainting the whole ceiling?
Yes, though the patch may show. Painting the full ceiling is the surest way to hide it.
Can ceiling drywall be repaired before a leak is fixed?
No. We repair the ceiling once the leak is fixed and the board has dried or been replaced.
Request an estimate
For a Lakewood ceiling, tell us whether the leak above has been fixed and send a photo of the room.
