Level 5 smooth walls in Lakewood

We apply a Level 5 drywall finish in Lakewood by finishing the joints and screws, then skim coating the entire sheet so the wall is flat under paint. It's the finish to choose when light rakes across a wall or the paint has a sheen.

Keep strong light from exaggerating wall transitions

Side light and a glossy sheen can reveal seams or uneven patches across a smooth wall or ceiling. A repair in one spot may not address how the broader surface looks when light travels across it.

For Level 5, Solis applies a full-surface skim with the room lighting and paint sheen in view. Treating the surface as a field carries the finish across the area instead of leaving one isolated patch to define the wall.

  • A full-surface skim across the selected area.
  • A finish chosen with room light and paint sheen in view.

Here’s how we get it handled

  1. Text us photos or call

A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.

  2. Agree the scope and schedule

We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

  3. Get the space finished

Half of Lakewood's homes were built before 1975 and half after. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built

What the extra skim coat covers

Level 5 starts with the Level 4 work on joints, fasteners and corner bead, then adds a skim coat over every square foot of board. GA-214 defines the levels so you, your designer and we mean the same thing. We price the skim on its own line, separate from hanging, primer and paint.

Choose Level 5 with actual lighting in mind

Tall windows, wall-wash lights and downlights close to a wall show small dips once it's painted. Level 5 specifies the work, and it can't promise that no mark will ever show from every angle. The Gypsum Association points to a jobsite mock-up under the real light, and we can finish one before we skim the room.

Separate new panel finishing from a texture conversion

New board is an even starting point. An old textured wall brings patches, loose paint and the pattern itself, and all of that needs work before a smooth skim will hold. That prep often reaches beyond the visible damage, so we list it apart from the Level 5 line.

Showing us the room and its light

Name the walls and ceilings that get the skim, where the light comes from, and whether we're painting too. A photo taken in afternoon sun or with the lights on shows us what you see, so text it with the room size.

Level 5 Drywall Finish questions in Lakewood

Does Level 5 make a wall invisible under side lighting?

No finish can promise that. Level 5 is the flattest of the GA-214 levels, and a mock-up under your actual light sets expectations before the room is done.

Does Level 5 include painting?

No. It's drywall prep, and primer and paint are added only if you include them.
