Lakewood's code sets conditions for ADUs, including setbacks, lot coverage, height and parking, some of them tied to the site. Settle the layout and reviews with the City and your designer first. Once rough-in and inspections are done, we set board areas and access panels from the current drawings.

Keep finishes consistent across the living space
A small unit packs a kitchen, bath, bedroom and living space close together. Decide whether one finish level and paint run through the whole unit or the plans call for something different in places. Recesses, closets, doors and access panels change the board layout, and a room schedule keeps the trim and paint stages easy to follow.
Conversions and detached units
In an attached conversion, the new walls are finished to meet the house's existing ones, and in a detached unit everything is new. Either way, send the current plan set and room areas.
