Sound-control drywall walls in Lakewood

We install acoustic drywall in Lakewood as part of the sound-control wall your project documents specify. The board is one layer of a full assembly, so framing, openings and edges are in the same scope.

Build the drywall around the specified sound-control assembly

Sound can travel between rooms when the wall build-up does not match the project requirement. Board type alone does not describe the whole assembly; framing, adjacent spaces, and how the room is used also affect the drywall work.

Solis installs drywall as part of the specified wall build-up, with assembly details and room use guiding the work. Following the plans ties board installation to the design that calls for sound control and the surrounding wall construction.

  • Drywall installed to the specified wall build-up.
  • Assembly details carried through the board installation.

Here’s how we get it handled

  1. Text us photos or call

A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.

  2. Agree the scope and schedule

We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

  3. Get the space finished

Solis completes the agreed work and reviews the finish with you. Include interior painting in the scope for a complete drywall-and-paint handoff.

Half of Lakewood's homes were built before 1975 and half after. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built

The wall assembly does the work

Sound performance comes from the whole assembly: framing, gypsum layers, insulation or resilient channel where specified, the perimeter and every penetration. GA-600 lists sound-tested wall designs, and none of them backs a soundproofing claim for one board. We build the drywall part of the named system and coordinate the plan details, and we won't put a rating on a wall that hasn't been specified.

Carry details through doors and services

Doors, outlets, pipes and vents all break a partition. Their treatment follows the assembly details and gets settled before we board. If a service point moves, the project team reviews the wall detail before we close it.

Choose the assembly for the sound path

A wall between rooms and a floor-ceiling above a room stop different sound. GA-600 lists walls and floor-ceilings separately, and a wall rating doesn't carry over to footsteps through a ceiling. If footfall from upstairs is the problem, the floor-ceiling design is the one to look at.

Plans with the sound walls marked

Send the current plans with the sound walls marked, plus door and service locations and the finish on each side. We'll price the drywall shown, without adding STC, IIC or soundproofing promises the plans don't make.

Acoustic Drywall questions in Lakewood

Does acoustic drywall by itself make a room soundproof?

No. Sound performance depends on the whole assembly and how its openings, edges and penetrations are built.

Can an acoustic wall reduce footsteps from above?

No. Footsteps travel through the floor-ceiling, which needs its own design.
