Carry the wall from board through its finished surface

New board can still leave seams and corners obvious once light crosses the wall. When taping, texture or skim work, and primer preparation are handled as separate jobs, the final coating can expose the handoff between them.

Solis carries the wall from board replacement through taping, the selected smooth or textured finish, and primer preparation. Keeping the same surface in view through coating gives the room a connected finish from new board to painted wall.

  • Board and finish work carried through to primer preparation.
  • A connected finish from the new board to the painted wall.

Here’s how we get it handled

  1. Text us photos or call

A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.

  2. Agree the scope and schedule

We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

  3. Get the space finished

Solis completes the agreed work and reviews the finish with you. Include interior painting in the scope for a complete drywall-and-paint handoff.

1980Median year Tenino homes were built

Half of Tenino's homes were built before 1980 and half after. The estimate is wide here, about 9 years either way. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built

Bring joints into one clean surface

We tape the seams, set the corner bead, fill the screw heads and feather each coat wide so the joint sinks into the wall instead of standing up as a ridge. Each coat dries before the next goes on. Then we sand and check the surface before any primer or texture touches it.

Set the finish level with the decoration

GA-214 gives the finish levels their names. Level 4 treats the joints, fasteners and corners and is the usual base for flat paint and light texture. Level 5 adds a thin skim over the whole board, which pays off under glossy paint or hard side light. We price them as different jobs because Level 5 puts compound on every square foot.

Choose the handoff you want

Our part can end at sanded joints ready for primer, or carry on through texture and paint. About half of Tenino's homes were built before 1980 and about three in ten since 2000, so a remodel here can put new board right beside a much older wall. We finish that meeting line with the room, and when a texture repeats through the house we do one sample area for you to approve first.

Getting a finishing quote in Tenino

Text us photos of the rooms, the ceiling height and whether the board is hung yet. Tell us the finish level if your plans name one, and whether texture or paint comes after the joints. We send back a quote by area that shows exactly where our work stops.

Drywall Finishing questions in Tenino

What is included in drywall finishing?

Tape, compound and sanding on every joint, screw and corner, to the finish level we agree. Texture, primer and paint are added when you want them in the quote.

How do Level 4 and Level 5 differ?

Level 5 adds a skim coat over the whole board after the Level 4 joint work. Your paint sheen and the light in the room usually decide whether it is worth the extra cost.
