Level 5 skim-coat finish in Tenino
We finish drywall to Level 5 in Tenino, adding a skim coat over the entire panel face after the joints are done. It is the most uniform surface the GA-214 levels describe, and we show you a sample in your own light before we skim the whole room.

Keep strong light from exaggerating wall transitions
Side light and a glossy sheen can reveal seams or uneven patches across a smooth wall or ceiling. A repair in one spot may not address how the broader surface looks when light travels across it.
For Level 5, Solis applies a full-surface skim with the room lighting and paint sheen in view. Treating the surface as a field carries the finish across the area instead of leaving one isolated patch to define the wall.
- A full-surface skim across the selected area.
- A finish chosen with room light and paint sheen in view.

Level 5 drywall finish in Tenino homes
When Tenino's homes were built shapes what is behind the wall and which rules apply to the work.
- 17% Before 1940
- 12% 1940–1959
- 22% 1960–1979
- 21% 1980–1999
- 29% 2000 or later
- 1980Median year Tenino homes were built
Half of Tenino's homes were built before 1980 and half after. The estimate is wide here, about 9 years either way. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built
- 29.3%of Tenino homes were built in 2000 or later
Newer homes are almost all drywall over wood framing, which keeps new work and the existing walls consistent. U.S. Census Bureau, 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates
What the full-surface skim adds
Level 4 finishes the seams and screws. Level 5 puts a thin coat of compound over every square foot of board as well, so the paper face and the taped joints take paint the same way. That shows on a long wall lit from the side, under glossy paint, and on a ceiling you look across in a big room.
Existing texture is a separate job
Level 5 describes how bare board is finished. If your wall has texture now, removing it, fixing torn paper and replacing bad board come first and get their own lines in the quote. Patching compound could contain asbestos until 1977, so in an older Tenino house the existing texture is tested before we sand into it. A skim on new board in an addition starts from a different place than converting a textured room.
Judge appearance under the room's actual light
Window light raking across a wall, recessed lights and the paint sheen all change how a finished plane reads. GA-214 points to a mock-up for exactly this. On a wall that matters, we finish a sample section, you look at it at the time of day you care about, and then we skim the rest.
Pricing Level 5 wall by wall
Tell us which walls or ceilings get the skim, roughly how big they are, whether the board is new, and the paint sheen you plan to use. A photo of the light hitting the wall helps. Your quote shows Level 5 separately from any Level 4 areas and from texture removal.
Level 5 Drywall Finish questions in Tenino
Does Level 5 mean a perfectly invisible wall in every light?
No finish can promise that. Level 5 gives the most uniform surface of the GA-214 levels, and the sample shows you what to expect before we do the whole area.
Does Level 5 automatically include removing old texture?
No. Removing texture and repairing the wall underneath are priced as their own steps, ahead of the skim.
