Sound-control drywall walls in Tenino
We install acoustic drywall in Tenino for sound-control walls, following the assembly and finish details in the project documents. The sound rating belongs to the whole wall design, so we build the design you've chosen and quote it that way.

Build the drywall around the specified sound-control assembly
Sound can travel between rooms when the wall build-up does not match the project requirement. Board type alone does not describe the whole assembly; framing, adjacent spaces, and how the room is used also affect the drywall work.
Solis installs drywall as part of the specified wall build-up, with assembly details and room use guiding the work. Following the plans ties board installation to the design that calls for sound control and the surrounding wall construction.
- Drywall installed to the specified wall build-up.
- Assembly details carried through the board installation.
Here’s how we get it handled
Text us photos or call
A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.
Agree the scope and schedule
We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.
Get the space finished

Acoustic drywall in Tenino homes
When Tenino's homes were built shapes what is behind the wall and which rules apply to the work.
- 17% Before 1940
- 12% 1940–1959
- 22% 1960–1979
- 21% 1980–1999
- 29% 2000 or later
- 1980Median year Tenino homes were built
Half of Tenino's homes were built before 1980 and half after. The estimate is wide here, about 9 years either way. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built
- 29.3%of Tenino homes were built in 2000 or later
Newer homes are almost all drywall over wood framing, which keeps new work and the existing walls consistent. U.S. Census Bureau, 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates
Start with the wall assembly that was selected
GA-600 lists sound-control designs for gypsum walls with every part spelled out: framing, board layers, insulation, channels or clips, perimeter edges and penetrations. Send the wall type from your plans and we build those parts as drawn.

Keep the wall's sound path in view
Sound leaks through a wall and around its edges, so upgrading one face doesn't make the whole wall perform. Door openings, electrical boxes and gaps at the top and bottom are part of the design. GA-600 gives STC or FSTC numbers for specific tested walls, and those numbers don't carry over to a wall built differently.

Separate acoustic drywall from acoustic ceilings
A sound wall is a different build from a suspended acoustic ceiling or a floor-ceiling assembly, and each deals with a different path for noise. If your project needs more than one, we list them separately with their own design references.
Quoting a sound-control wall
Send the wall schedule, the assembly reference, the layer and framing details and the drawing revision. Show where the wall meets doors, ceilings and other partitions, and which faces get board. We quote the drywall work as drawn and leave the rating with the design.
Acoustic Drywall questions in Tenino
Can acoustic drywall guarantee a sound rating?
No. The rating belongs to the complete tested assembly. We build to the design your plans reference.
Is acoustic drywall the same as a sound-absorbing ceiling?
No. A wall, a suspended ceiling and a floor-ceiling assembly are separate systems that handle different sound paths.
