TV mounting on Tacoma walls, drywall to plaster
We handle TV mounting in Tacoma on drywall, plaster and masonry walls, fixing the mount to studs or other solid support behind the surface. Where it goes depends on the wall, the mount, the screen size, the cable route and what's hidden behind the wall.

Mount the TV where the wall can support its hardware
A TV's location, wall or ceiling surface, and mounting hardware all affect how it attaches. Overlooking the product instructions or framing can put the mount in the wrong place or leave drywall work out of the plan.
Solis installs the mount at the chosen location using its hardware instructions and known framing or backing. When support work requires opening drywall, Solis adds backing and patches the wall after mounting so the finish meets the installation.
- TV mounted at the selected location.
- Related drywall opening or patching carried with the work.

Walls in Tacoma homes
- 26.9%of Tacoma homes were built before 1940
Homes this old often have plaster walls, which need a different anchoring method than drywall. Tell us if the wall is plaster. National Park Service, Preservation Brief 21: Repairing Historic Flat Plaster
Choose the screen location and mount
Pick the spot, height and viewing angle with us before anything gets drilled. Fixed, tilting and full-motion mounts put different loads on the wall and need different clearance, so we check the mount's instructions against the wall at that spot.
Check the wall and attachment point
Drywall by itself won't hold a TV. We fasten into studs, masonry or other solid support suited to the mount and screen. In older North End, Stadium and Proctor homes the wall may be plaster on wood lath, which cracks if it's drilled carelessly. We restore plaster in those neighborhoods and drill and anchor it with that in mind.
Coordinate cables and nearby services
Running cables inside the wall can involve electrical or low-voltage work beyond the mount. We note the outlets and the path you want, check for pipes and wires before opening the wall, and list any patching or paint on its own line.
Before we come out
Text us the TV and mount model, a photo of the wall, and whether you want the cables hidden.
TV Mounting questions in Tacoma
Can a TV mount attach anywhere on a drywall wall?
No. It needs studs or other solid support at the mounting points, and we find them before drilling.
Does TV mounting include hiding cables?
It can. Hidden cables are priced separately, and anything that needs a new outlet goes to an electrician.
