DuPont drywall finishing, taped to the level you need
We take on drywall finishing in DuPont for new rooms, remodels and repairs, carrying the joints, screws and corners through to the texture or paint stage you name. The finish level decides how much of the surface we coat, and your room plan decides where we stop.

Carry the wall from board through its finished surface
New board can still leave seams and corners obvious once light crosses the wall. When taping, texture or skim work, and primer preparation are handled as separate jobs, the final coating can expose the handoff between them.
Solis carries the wall from board replacement through taping, the selected smooth or textured finish, and primer preparation. Keeping the same surface in view through coating gives the room a connected finish from new board to painted wall.
- Board and finish work carried through to primer preparation.
- A connected finish from the new board to the painted wall.

Drywall finishing in DuPont homes
When DuPont's homes were built shapes what is behind the wall and which rules apply to the work.
- 6% Before 1940
- under 1% 1940–1959
- 8% 1960–1979
- 24% 1980–1999
- 63% 2000 or later
- 2002Median year DuPont homes were built
Half of DuPont's homes were built before 2002 and half after. New walls in an existing home are finished to meet what is already there, so the home's age shapes the finish plan. U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020–2024, median year structure built
- 62.5%of DuPont homes were built in 2000 or later
Newer homes are almost all drywall over wood framing, which keeps new work and the existing walls consistent. U.S. Census Bureau, 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimates
Build a continuous plane from panel joints
Tape bridges each seam, compound fills the screw heads, and corner bead gets its own coats. We widen every pass so the joint fades into the board, then sand and inspect before the surface moves on to primer or texture.

Name the finish level the plans call for
GA-214 sets out the levels. At Level 4 the joints, fasteners and bead are treated for the decoration you've chosen; at Level 5 a skim also goes over the whole face of the board. A room that looks smooth isn't proof it was Level 5, so we price the level written in your finish schedule.
Choose the decoration and stop point
About half of DuPont's homes went up in the 2000s, and the city's median home dates to 2002, so finishing here often means tying new board into drywall walls a couple of decades old. We finish to a primed smooth surface, continue the existing texture or carry on into paint. A sample settles any texture or sheen before it runs through several rooms.

Asking for a finishing estimate
Text the room sizes, a few photos, the board status and the finish level if it's specified. Add the texture or paint you have in mind and any wall that gets hard side light. Our estimate states whether we stop paint-ready or keep going through the decoration.
Drywall Finishing questions in DuPont
What does drywall finishing cover?
Joint tape, compound and sanding over every seam, screw and corner to the agreed level. Texture, primer and paint join the estimate when you ask for them.
Is Level 5 just another name for smooth finish?
No. Level 5 is a skim over the whole board. Smooth is a look, and it can come from different amounts of work.
