Put fire-damaged walls back after restoration work

Fire restoration can leave damaged board and finish to replace after the affected area is ready for drywall work. Without a clear handoff, board replacement and texture or paint preparation can be mixed into the restoration stage.

After the restoration provider clears the remaining work area, Solis repairs the drywall and carries the wall through texture and paint preparation as needed. Keeping that work with the post-restoration phase gives the room a clear path back to finished walls.

Here’s how we get it handled

  1. Text us photos or call

A close-up, a wider view and your city give us a useful starting point. You can also call and talk through the work.

  2. Agree the scope and schedule

We review the work with you, arrange a site visit where needed and put the agreed scope and finish in your estimate.

  3. Get the space finished

Solis completes the agreed work and reviews the finish with you. Include interior painting in the scope for a complete drywall-and-paint handoff.

Start when the surface is ready to rebuild

We begin after response and specialty work are complete and the wall can be closed. Tell us which rooms are open, what has been removed and whether another trade still needs access. Fire response, remediation and utility repair are outside our part.

Replace damaged board and finish the joints

The repair follows the board that survived and the opening left for rebuilding. A fitted panel fills the gap, tape and compound carry the seams into the wall, and after prep the surface matches the old texture or takes a new smooth finish.

Keep any rated assembly intact

About one DuPont home in six is in a building with five or more units, where the wall or ceiling between units may belong to a fire-resistance design. Send the wall type and assembly reference before we replace board. GA-600 describes complete systems, and replacing only the exposed face doesn't show the wall still meets its design.

Fire rebuild estimate

List each room and surface, the open-area sizes, what was removed, where restoration stands, any assembly reference, the current texture and the paint boundary. Close and room-wide photos show us how the repair meets intact board.
