Prepare wall repairs before painting the room
Bare compound, failed patches, cracks, texture differences, and changes in sheen can show through a new coat. Painting before the wall is ready can leave surface variations visible after the room is finished.
Solis prepares interior surfaces, coordinates drywall correction and texture blending, then applies primer and finish paint. Carrying preparation into painting gives repaired walls a consistent base for the selected coating.
- Wall repairs and texture prepared before painting.
- Primer and finish coats carried through the selected areas.

Prepare surfaces before applying finish coats
Sound walls need less than walls with holes, old patches, uneven joints or loose paint. We list the repairs and the primer that new board or patches need before any finish coat, which is why two rooms in the same color can price differently. More than three in five DuPont homes were built in 2000 or later. In the Historic Village and other homes built before 1978, Washington's lead renovation rules apply when prep disturbs the old paint.
Choose the coverage boundary for each space
Coverage can be one wall, a whole room, the ceiling, trim or doors. A spot touch-up can differ in color and sheen from the older paint around it, and stopping at a corner gives a cleaner line. Mark the surfaces and edges in each room and we price that area.
Name color and sheen by surface
Walls, ceilings and trim can take different products and sheens. Give us the colors and sheens you've chosen and anything that changes from what's there. Planned drywall repair or texture work goes in the same estimate so it's done before the finish coats.
Room list for a painting estimate
Text a list of rooms, rough wall and ceiling areas, photos, colors and sheen if chosen, trim coverage and known repairs. Say where each surface ends at corners or openings, and the estimate breaks out prep, primer and paint by room.
